I am here to help.

Please don't feel like you or your child have to struggle alone.

All sessions are tailored to suit individual needs and working with a person centred approach, where sessions are led by young clients. This helps to build report and trust, which are very important within Therapy. It can be hard to talk to someone new, that's why this approach has been successful amongst young people, working at a pace that suits them.

Youth Counselling North Devon offers a calm and welcoming space for 1:1 Counselling sessions for ages 8 - 30.

Sessions tailored to suit each individual

Each client is unique and will be looking to gain certain things from their Counselling sessions. Young clients are always kept at the heart of the work, allowing them to grow in confidence and self esteem.

Clients always lead the sessions and what we discuss, this provides an element of control over their therapy sessions and can be very empowering and builds on self confidence and esteem.

Client led

A person centred approach ensures sessions are led by clients throughout, working at a pace that suits them.

Young clients will never be pushed to talk about something they do not wish to discuss. They are encouraged to talk about what feels relevant to them each session. Choice is very important in therapy.

I am trained as an integrative Counsellor. This means I can draw from different theories and strategies to work on specific issues.

Sessions fuelled by creativity and choice

Children and young people are actively encouraged to make choices where possible. This could be deciding what we talk about, or the activity we do within the session. This can build on a whole range of skills such as:

  • Communication skills
  • Creative thinking
  • Decision making
  • Independent thinking
  • Self Esteem and confidence

Young people thrive from having choice and some element of control with their therapy which can be really beneficial for their engagement within sessions.
